"Jim" was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up near Shea Stadium and LaGuardia Airport in Queens. He founded Lazear & Lazear, Inc. in 1981, and he and brother Dennis started Staff Right, Inc. in 1983. Jim attended the University of Florida (hence our logo), and graduated with a BS Engineering - Metallurgy and a BS Engineering - Ceramics in 1978. He put himself through Florida flying neo-natal air charters in Gainesville, Florida as well as performing research in dental biomaterials at the Medical College. Jim has a MS - Business Administration, and Doctorate in Education (dissertation just about finished).

The brothers Lazear also owned the video game room at Mitchell International Airport from 1987 - 1994, and ran a chain of hotel retail stores in Milwaukee. Dennis retired to Pensacola, Florida a few years ago, and the brothers now operate a generator consultancy along the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Jim is active in the day to day operations of Staff Right, Inc. and Lazear & Lazear, Inc., and is helping his able staff to evolve the operation into the best temporary help and executive search firms in Wisconsin. "It's all about the care and mentoring of excellent people." Jim often says. "There is no one who is self made; it takes great people. There are no shortcuts; no freebies; no cutting corners. You have to instill a lifelong passion for learning, leading, and service into each of your employees. The culture I built allows for no substitution of any other goals."

When not doing business, Jim is avidly reading from his book polluted library, watching old movies, or playing one of his custom made classical or electric guitars. A life long gourmand, Jim is always available for a restaurant recommendation (particularly in Milwaukee and New York City). His wife of 28 years, Mollie, is the Executive Assistant to Mr. Albert Adelman, Chairman of Adelman Travel. She is a world class knitter, and is a District Committee Member of The Polaris District for the Boy Scouts of America. Mollie and Jim have 2 grown sons and 2 teenage daughters.
